MANSEHRA, Aug. 3: Personnel of the Shergarh Forest Sub-Division, operating under the Agaror Tanawal Forest Division, actively participated in search and rescue operations following a devastating flash flood in Bela Bathu Bandi, Village Council Gali Badral, demonstrating the department’s commitment beyond its core mandate of forest conservation.
According to the Forest Department, field staff worked in close coordination with Rescue 1122 and other relevant agencies to assist in the search operation across the affected area. Teams remained deployed at vulnerable and high-risk locations, monitoring the situation and supporting emergency response efforts despite strong flood currents and challenging weather conditions.
Officials said the forest personnel continued their rescue support while carrying out their regular responsibilities of protecting forests, conserving biodiversity, and managing natural resources, highlighting the department’s broader role in disaster response and community service.
The department stated that the operation reflects the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department’s commitment not only to safeguarding forests, wildlife, and natural ecosystems but also to protecting human lives during natural disasters. It reaffirmed that the department stands shoulder to shoulder with the civil administration, Rescue 1122, and other emergency response agencies in fulfilling its national responsibility during emergencies.
The department also appreciated the dedication and courage of its field staff, who remained on the ground to support rescue efforts under difficult conditions while ensuring the safety and well-being of affected communities.
