GUJRAT: The district administration has planted 600 saplings along the central median of GT Road at Pabbi, Sarai Alamgir, as part of its ongoing tree plantation campaign aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and urban greenery.
Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi personally supervised the plantation drive, according to official sources.
The plantation included Amaltas, Kachnar, and Gul-e-Chin saplings, selected to beautify the roadside landscape while increasing the district’s green cover.
The district administration said the initiative is part of its broader efforts to promote environmental conservation, improve air quality, and create a cleaner and healthier environment for residents. It added that similar plantation activities will continue across the district to support the government’s afforestation and climate resilience objectives.
