IRS, Beyond Carbon Sign MoU to Strengthen Climate Resilience and Climate Diplomacy

ISLAMABAD: The Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Beyond Carbon (Pvt.) Ltd. to establish a strategic partnership aimed at promoting climate resilience, climate diplomacy, and sustainable development in Pakistan.

The agreement was signed by Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, President of the Institute of Regional Studies, and Ambassador Fauzia Nasreen, Climate Diplomacy Advisor at Beyond Carbon (Pvt.) Ltd., during a ceremony held at the IRS headquarters in Islamabad.

Under the partnership, the two organizations will collaborate through the Climate Resilience Program at IRS to undertake joint research, promote evidence-based policy dialogue, strengthen climate diplomacy, support climate finance initiatives, enhance Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) capacity building, and engage key stakeholders in advancing Pakistan’s climate resilience agenda.

The collaboration will also facilitate policy engagement, knowledge sharing, and cooperation with government institutions, development partners, academia, industry, and Chambers of Commerce and Industry across the country.

Officials said the partnership reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to fostering informed policymaking, building strategic partnerships, and supporting Pakistan’s transition towards a more climate-resilient and sustainable future.
