D.I. Khan Wildlife Division Cracks Down on Illegal Quail Poaching

D.I. KHAN: The Wildlife Division Dera Ismail Khan has intensified enforcement operations against illegal quail hunting and trapping, conducting successful search-and-strike operations in different areas of the district.

On the directives of Divisional Forest Officer Wildlife Division D.I. Khan, Naimat Ullah Khan, teams from the Paharpur Wildlife Sub-Division, supervised by SDWO Faizan Habib, and the Waterfowl Wildlife Range, under Range Officer Asmatullah Khan, carried out targeted operations within their respective jurisdictions.

During the operations, several individuals were booked under the relevant provisions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife and Biodiversity Act, 2015. Authorities also recovered Rs. 145,000 in compensation in connection with the violations.

The Wildlife Division said the operations reflect its commitment to effective enforcement of wildlife protection laws and a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal hunting, poaching and trapping.

Officials further appreciated the field teams for their vigilance and dedication in protecting wildlife resources and preserving the region’s natural biodiversity.
