Illegal Kail Timber Seized During Late-Night Forest Department Operation in Chakdara

CHAKDARA: The Forest Department has intercepted a vehicle carrying illegally transported Kail timber during a late-night enforcement operation in Chakdara, as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal logging and timber smuggling.

According to forest officials, the operation was conducted at around 11pm on August 23, 2026, on the instructions and under the supervision of SDFO Chakdara Forest Sub-Division Syed Imaduddin.

Acting on information provided by an informant, the Forest Department team established a checkpoint at Haider Siyah Top. A white-coloured Datsun vehicle was stopped and searched, leading to the recovery of Kail timber from the vehicle.

The enforcement team comprised Wahid Zaman, Afzal Ahmed, Irfanuddin, Zaid Khan and Waqas Khan, who took part in the operation.

The vehicle and recovered timber were taken into official custody and shifted to the Chakdara Forest Sub-Division Office for further proceedings.

Legal action against the individuals allegedly involved in the illegal transportation of timber has been initiated under the relevant forest laws and regulations.

Forest officials reiterated that enforcement operations against illegal logging and timber smuggling will continue without interruption to protect the province’s forest resources and curb the illegal exploitation of its natural wealth.
