The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a list of 17 dangerous pathogens responsible for causing diseases and deaths.
According to the WHO, HIV, TB, hepatitis, and malaria contribute to 2.5 million deaths annually.
The WHO also identified pathogens causing pneumonia and other diseases with drug resistance as significant threats.
The WHO has urged for accelerated research on vaccines for these pathogens, stating that the development of vaccines will not only reduce deaths but also decrease the costs associated with treating these diseases.
