As his legal troubles continue to worsen with temperatures reaching freezing in Iowa, former President Donald Trump is refreshing his fellow citizens on Sunday about the “safety and security” of America when he was in the White House.
Donald Trump recalled saying about North Korea that the US was “safer” when he was in power, citing his personal ties with leader Kim Jong Un.
Addressing supporters during a rally in Indianola, Iowa, he said: “Kim Jong-un [is] very smart, very tough, but he liked me and I got along really well with him and we were safe.”
Just hours after gathering it in the cold, North Korea fired an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) into the East Sea on Sunday in its first launch of 2024, according to the South Korean military.
“We wanted to go to war with them. They have a huge nuclear stockpile, maybe as big as anybody, so we did a great job,” the four-time indictee said of North Korea.

During his presidency (2017 to 2021), Trump met with Kim Jong Un three times, but their engagement reached an impasse after there was no breakthrough during the Hanoi summit in February 2019.
Freezing winter in Indianola
The weather was chilly in the US Midwest as Republican presidential candidates prepared to face off during the party’s nominating vote in Iowa on Monday.
Grand Old Party (GOP) officials also warned citizens to prepare for severe weather as plummeting temperatures forced Republicans to postpone their rallies.
