RAWALPINDI: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi has successfully completed its emergency drainage operation following the latest monsoon rains, restoring normal traffic flow across the city’s major roads.
According to a WASA spokesperson, Managing Director Azizullah Khan, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rehman, visited several low-lying areas to monitor drainage operations and assess the overall situation.
The MD said rainwater had been completely drained from Dhok Khaba, Millat Colony, Sadiqabad, Muslim Town, and other vulnerable localities, while traffic on all major roads had returned to normal.
He added that water flow in Nullah Lai and other drainage channels across the city remained within normal levels.
Azizullah Khan said WASA has remained on high alert in view of the possibility of further rainfall, with field staff, heavy machinery and emergency response teams deployed across the city to respond promptly to any developing situation.
He urged citizens to immediately contact the WASA helpline in case of any drainage-related emergency or public safety concern so that timely assistance can be provided.
