NEELUM, AJK: The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Turkish Red Crescent (TRC) and Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) have joined hands to support flood-affected farmers in District Neelum, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, by providing certified wheat seeds and fertilizer.
Under the initiative, 250 farmers received 50 kilograms of certified wheat seed and 25 kilograms of fertilizer each to help them resume farming, restore crop production and rebuild livelihoods affected by devastating floods.
The distribution ceremony was attended by representatives of TRC, TİKA Pakistan, PRCS National Headquarters, PRCS AJK Branch and the Agriculture Department, reflecting cooperation among humanitarian organisations and government partners to support affected communities.
Alongside the distribution, PRCS, in coordination with the Agriculture Department, organised an awareness session for farmers. The session covered improved agricultural practices, efficient fertilizer use, crop management and sustainable farming techniques.
The initiative aims to help restore agricultural livelihoods and support a resilient and sustainable recovery for flood-affected farming communities in District Neelum. By providing essential agricultural inputs and practical guidance, the partners are helping farmers restart cultivation and strengthen household livelihoods.
