Washington: SpaceX has signed an agreement with NASA to launch the International Space Station (ISS).
According to media reports, NASA and SpaceX have signed an agreement in which SpaceX will develop a special spacecraft capable of destroying the International Space Station.
In September 2023, NASA announced the launch vehicle and prepared the contract for it. The decision to deorbit the station comes as NASA and ISS stakeholders agree that the station’s life in orbit is over.
It is also known that the ISS is so big that if it breaks up, it will cause significant damage by debris falling to Earth. Therefore, NASA wants to ensure the use of special vehicles that can efficiently perform this task in one effort.
The contract between NASA and SpaceX states that the total potential value of the single award contract is $843 million. The cost of launching a vehicle into space is not much.
