Rawal Dam Spillways Open as Water Level Reaches 1,751.40 Feet

ISLAMABAD: The spillways of Rawal Dam were opened on Wednesday morning after the water level in the reservoir reached 1,751.40 feet, prompting authorities to release excess water.

According to the latest update, the spillways remained open from 6:00am to 12:00pm.

The release of water is expected to increase the flow in Korang Nullah, with residents living along the watercourse advised to remain vigilant.

Authorities have urged people, particularly those residing near Korang Nullah, to exercise extreme caution and avoid unnecessary movement near the water channel.

Citizens have also been advised not to cross the nullah or temporary bridges constructed over it if the water flow becomes fast or dangerous.

The public has been urged to follow safety instructions and remain alert to further updates from the relevant authorities.
