LAHORE, October 5, 2026: The Punjab Water and Sanitation Authority (PWASA) has decided to use the Maryam Ki Dastak digital service platform to provide water and sanitation services to citizens across Punjab.
The decision was taken during a meeting held at the PWASA Headquarters on October 5, chaired by Additional Director General (ADG) Headquarters Zamir Hussain. The meeting was attended by the PITB team working on the Maryam Ki Dastak project.
Director IT and GIS Samreen Ashraf and Business Development representative Muhammad Taimoor from PWASA also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, officials agreed that the digital platform would be used to facilitate access to PWASA services across the province. The initiative aims to provide citizens with a more convenient and technology-based way to access essential water and sanitation services.
The move is expected to make service delivery more citizen-focused while reducing the need for people to visit government offices for routine services.
Digital access to water and sanitation services can also support more efficient management of urban utilities by improving communication between service providers and citizens and helping authorities respond to service requests more effectively.
The initiative is part of efforts to use technology to improve public service delivery and strengthen access to essential water and sanitation services across Punjab.
