A group of Pakistani volunteers who helped and used hundreds of people and dozens of vehicles during the recent rains in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, received a welcome from the Consul General of the Consulate, Mr. Hussain Mohammed. The volunteers were awarded certificates of appreciation by the Consul General for their outstanding service. Other consulate officials and staff also attended the event.
The Consul General said, “We are extremely proud of the Pakistani volunteers who showed extraordinary bravery and compassion during the heavy rains in the UAE. Their dedication to rescuing those in need shows the true spirit of humanity.”
While acknowledging his efforts, the Consul General said that such acts of kindness and service to humanity have a positive impact on others and encourage people to make such contributions in times of crisis.
The committee members are Mr. Tanvir Athar, Mr. Sulaiman Tanvir, Mr. Shaheed Ibrahim Gull, Mr. Muhammad Owais, Mr. Affan Tanvir and Mr. Alai Zaidi. “After our service last monsoon, some volunteers contacted us and offered their services for all future endeavours,” said Mr Tanveer Athar.
Activists also reported rescuing people stranded in the desert and created a mobile app to receive requests for help.
