NHA Restores Flood-Hit N-45 in Chitral, One-Way Traffic Resumes

CHITRAL: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has restored a section of the N-45 national highway in Chitral that was affected by heavy rainfall and flash flooding, allowing one-way traffic to resume at Ishperish.

According to an NHA spokesperson, the road had remained closed since the night after debris and floodwater affected the highway.

NHA heavy machinery was deployed to clear the affected section, with debris removed from kilometres 243 to 247 to reopen the route for traffic.

The authority said restoration work on the N-45 is continuing at a fast pace, with teams working to fully rehabilitate the affected portions of the national highway.

The road is an important route connecting Chitral with other parts of the region, and its restoration is expected to provide relief to commuters and local communities affected by the disruption.

NHA teams are continuing to monitor the situation and carry out further clearance and rehabilitation work to ensure safer and smoother traffic movement along the affected corridor.
