ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has successfully restored traffic on the N-15 Highway and other key road links that were blocked by landslides following heavy rainfall.
According to an NHA spokesperson, the authority cleared landslide debris from the N-15 Highway at Babusar and Chilas, fully reopening the route to traffic. The highway had been closed on Wednesday evening after landslides disrupted vehicular movement.
The NHA also removed debris from the Gilgit Road at Tatta Pani and Ghani, allowing the road to reopen for one-way traffic as an initial measure to facilitate the movement of passengers and vehicles.
The spokesperson confirmed that traffic has now resumed on all major highways affected by the landslides. However, field teams and heavy machinery remain deployed in vulnerable areas to respond promptly to any further landslides or weather-related emergencies.
The NHA urged motorists to exercise caution while travelling through mountainous regions, remain updated on road conditions, and cooperate with traffic management authorities to ensure safe and smooth travel during the ongoing monsoon season.
