Federal Minister Dr. Musadik Malik stressed that the fluctuating petrol prices in the global market are beyond Pakistan’s control and highlighted the government’s challenges in managing fuel costs.
Addressing the media in Lahore on Tuesday, he assured the public that initiatives have been taken under the new government to stabilize the value of the dollar and the rupee, which has contributed to economic stability.
Malik highlighted concerns over Pakistan’s eight to nine percent decline in annual output and stressed the need for proactive measures to address the issue and prevent further economic impacts.
Acknowledging that government initiatives have played a significant role in stabilizing the rupee, Malik also asserted that Pakistan, despite being recognized as a country affected by climate change, is actively working to mitigate its effects through appropriate measures.
The minister also emphasized the importance of political stability, which is key to achieving economic prosperity. He expressed the hope that economic stability will follow political stability.

He further recalled that earlier Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had extended an olive branch to the then PTI government but the gesture was rejected by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
About the result of the recent general election, Malík admitted that the results were unexpected for their party as they did not win the number of seats they expected.
In addition, Malik criticized the PTI for what he perceived as a lack of constructive and positive politics, accusing the party of engaging in distraction tactics rather than focusing on solving public problems. “We try to come out and look for solutions to public problems,” Malík emphasized.
