MIRPUR: Secretary of Local Government and Rural Development Irshad Qureshi visited the Muslim Hands Mirpur office and Solid Waste Management Centre to review ongoing initiatives related to waste management, recycling and environmental sustainability.
During the visit, officials briefed him on ongoing projects and future plans, with particular focus on improving solid waste management and promoting recycling as part of efforts to create a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
Qureshi also toured the Solid Waste Management Centre, where he observed the recycling process and reviewed various products made from recycled materials.
The visit highlighted the importance of turning waste into useful resources and encouraging responsible waste management practices. Recycling can help reduce the volume of waste sent to disposal sites while conserving resources and supporting a more circular approach to material use.
