Microsoft Teams is set to introduce a new interpreter feature for its users, allowing each participant to speak or listen in their selected language.
The interpreter feature in Teams will use real-time AI-powered speech-to-speech translation during meetings, enabling voices to be translated into different languages.
A preview of this feature will be launched in early 2025, initially supporting nine languages. The interpreter feature will translate the user’s voice into these languages.
This introduction is part of the ongoing AI enhancements in Microsoft Teams. Soon, a meeting transcription feature will also be available, providing transcriptions in 31 languages during meetings.
