KP Government’s ‘Ehsaas Baldia’ App Brings Municipal Complaints Closer to Real-Time Action

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has introduced the Ehsaas Baldia mobile application to provide citizens with a convenient digital platform for reporting sanitation, waste management and other municipal issues.

The application is designed to help residents report problems such as garbage accumulation, poor sanitation, blocked drains, faulty streetlights and other civic concerns directly to the relevant municipal and waste management authorities.

How Ehsaas Baldia Works

One of the key features of the application is GPS-based location tracking. When a complaint is registered, the app can capture the user’s location, helping the concerned field team identify the exact site of the reported problem.

Citizens can also upload live photographs of issues such as garbage piles, blocked drains or unclean public spaces. This provides authorities with visual information that can assist them in assessing and responding to complaints.

The app also provides different complaint categories, allowing users to select the type of municipal issue they want to report.

Another important feature is real-time complaint tracking. After submitting a complaint, users can monitor its progress through the application and see what action has been taken by the relevant authorities.

The system also incorporates a before-and-after verification mechanism. Once a reported issue has been addressed, the concerned field staff can upload a photograph showing the completed work, allowing citizens to verify whether the complaint has been resolved.

A Digital Tool for Cleaner Cities

The introduction of Ehsaas Baldia represents an effort to strengthen communication between citizens and municipal authorities through digital technology.

Instead of relying solely on traditional complaint mechanisms, residents can use their smartphones to report sanitation and civic problems from the location where they occur.

The initiative could also help municipal authorities identify recurring sanitation problems, improve field monitoring and make service delivery more transparent.

How Citizens Can Use the App

Residents can use the application by:

  1. Downloading the Ehsaas Baldia app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Taking a photograph of the sanitation or municipal problem.
  3. Uploading the photograph along with the location and submitting the complaint.
  4. Tracking the complaint and checking the action taken by the concerned team.

For the system to be effective, citizens also have an important role to play by reporting genuine problems, providing accurate locations and using the platform responsibly.

With increasing urbanization and growing pressure on municipal services, digital complaint and monitoring systems such as Ehsaas Baldia can help create a more responsive approach to waste management and civic services across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Cleaner cities require both effective public services and responsible citizens.
