A week after its theatrical release, the film is well received by the audience. In the interview, the leading lady shared her experience of working with the acclaimed director and expressed her gratitude for the film’s success.
In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Katrina Kaif spoke about her character Maria in the film. The actress shared that it was an intense process and added that director Sriram Raghavan does not spoon-feed his actors.
“He forces you to tell him what you feel in the scene and how the character will react to the situations they’re in.
It forces you to seek honesty. So working on Merry Christmas was extremely rewarding and challenging at the same time.

It was such an intense process, but amazing,” she said.
The Tiger 3 actress further shared an anecdote from her shooting days that reflects the dedication and free will of the director. She said, “There was a long scene between my character and Vijay Sethupathi’s character and Sriram sir wanted us to rehearse it.
The first time I did it, I asked him when we were going to shoot the sequence and he simply told me when the time was right.
We rehearsed the scene every day until he knew everyone was perfectly in sync, and that’s when he shot it,” Kat revealed, adding that he was very exploratory as an actor and learned some new techniques about the craft in Merry Christmas.
