A warning has been issued for iPhone users about a bug that could leak all their passwords. Experts have advised Apple users to check and update their device settings to ensure their sensitive personal information remains secure.
If iPhone users have recently installed iOS 18, they may notice an app called “Passwords” appearing on their home screen, which was automatically downloaded. This app stores all logins and passwords (those users have permitted the phone to save).
While this tool seemed to be useful, a flaw in its system has been identified after its launch. Developer and security researcher Tommy Mesk pointed out that the app uses “unencrypted” HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), meaning if a user enters login details on a webpage using the password app, their information could be exposed.
However, the issue has been addressed, and users are urged to update their devices to ensure their information is secure.
