The Central Power Purchase Authority (CPPA) has sent a request to the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) regarding the hike in electricity prices. This price increase request is made with the monthly revision of fuel prices. A hearing on the electricity tariff hike petition will be held at NEPRA tomorrow.

On demand, 12.26 billion units of electricity were produced last month, with a production value of Rs. 111 billion. Electricity generated from fuel is Rs. 31.44 per unit.

The CPPA request states that the cost of generating electricity from LNG is $50,000. 24.01 per unit, and electricity imported from Iran is $1,000,000. Unit 26.09.
