EPA Punjab Seals Industrial Unit in Late-Night Anti-Pollution Operation in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Punjab has sealed an industrial unit in Gujranwala for allegedly violating environmental laws and causing severe air pollution during a late-night enforcement operation.

An EPA Gujranwala team conducted an inspection of the unit as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor industrial activities and enforce environmental regulations.

During the inspection, the facility was found to be in violation of environmental requirements and allegedly contributing to significant air pollution, according to the EPA.

Taking action against the violation, the agency sealed the industrial unit and submitted an application for registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against those responsible.

The action is part of EPA Punjab’s continuing enforcement campaign against industrial units and other sources of pollution that pose risks to air quality and public health.

The agency has reiterated its policy of zero tolerance towards activities that violate environmental laws, particularly those contributing to air pollution.

EPA Punjab officials said enforcement teams remain active around the clock to identify environmental violations and ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations.

The department has also urged industries and other businesses to comply with environmental standards and adopt pollution-control measures to contribute towards a cleaner and greener Punjab.
