Popular TV and radio host actor and writer Tariq Aziz is remembered on his birthday today.
He was born on 28 April 1936 in Jalandhar and moved to Sahiwal, Pakistan after partition. Earlier in his career, Tariq Aziz worked for Radio Pakistan. He went on to become Pakistan’s first television host.
He first rose to fame in 1974 with the popular show Neelam Ghar, which ran for four decades until it was renamed The Tariq Aziz Show.
She has appeared in several films including Salgirah, Kasam Us Waqt Ki, Katari, Haar Gaya Insan, Humanity and Chirag Kahan Roshni Kahan.
In 1994, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Pride of Performance Award for his contribution to the entertainment industry.
On June 17, 2020, Tariq Aziz, aged 84, died suddenly of heart disease in Lahore.
