In Denmark, a man named Peter Benick was casually searching for fossils when he noticed something unusual on a piece of chalk. During his search in the eastern region of Denmark, Stevns Klint, he found this strange object and took it to a local museum, Geomuseum Faxe, for analysis.
According to a statement released by the museum, the chalk piece was cleaned, and then an expert from the Netherlands analyzed it. The expert concluded that the strange object was essentially the remains of an animal’s vomit, preserved for millions of years on the piece of chalk.
The museum’s statement confirmed that this is indeed a remarkable and astonishing discovery. It further stated that the animal likely consumed flowers that it couldn’t digest, leading it to vomit. The expert speculated that the animal could have been a type of fish, and this event occurred around 66 million years ago.
The museum mentioned that this discovery will help shed light on many new aspects of ancient life.
