Multan Holds Pre-Smog Conference to Promote Clean Air and Pollution Control

MULTAN: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Multan, in collaboration with Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan (MNSUAM), organised a pre-smog consultation conference to raise awareness about air pollution and measures to control smog.

Environmental experts, representatives of educational institutions, industrialists, government departments and other stakeholders attended the conference.

Speakers discussed the major causes of smog, the effects of air pollution and practical steps to improve air quality. They highlighted the importance of reducing smoke emissions, avoiding the burning of crop residues and ensuring compliance with environmental laws.

The speakers also stressed the importance of public awareness and cooperation among government institutions, businesses, educational institutions and citizens to address the growing challenge of air pollution.

Following the conference, participants held a smog awareness walk to spread the message of clean air and encourage citizens to play their part in reducing pollution.

The joint initiative by EPA Multan and MNSUAM aimed to bring different stakeholders together and promote collective responsibility for preventing smog and protecting public health.

The campaign highlighted a simple message: cleaner air requires responsible action from government agencies, industries, farmers and the public.
