ISLAMABAD: The anti-polio vaccination campaign in Islamabad will begin on September 21, with health teams targeting more than 447,000 children across the federal capital.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad formally inaugurated the campaign by administering polio drops to a child. He also chaired an important meeting to review preparations and arrangements for the campaign.
Officials briefed the meeting that a total of 447,614 children in 80 union councils have been identified for vaccination during the campaign.
The meeting reviewed the strategy for implementing the campaign, preparations and training of polio workers, as well as security arrangements for vaccination teams.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure effective implementation of the campaign and urged all relevant departments to work closely to achieve the vaccination targets.
He stressed that every effort should be made to ensure that no child is left without polio vaccination drops during the campaign.
The campaign is part of ongoing efforts to protect children from polio and prevent the spread of the disease in the capital.
