ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted a special fire safety mock drill at Parliament House Islamabad to assess and strengthen emergency preparedness and response mechanisms in the event of a fire or other emergency.
As part of the exercise, a simulated fire situation was created inside Parliament House to evaluate evacuation procedures, emergency communication, rescue operations and coordination with relevant authorities.
Officers and officials of Parliament House actively participated in the drill and extended full cooperation to CDA staff throughout the exercise.
The mock drill also provided an opportunity for officials to assess existing emergency arrangements, identify potential gaps and determine areas requiring further improvement to ensure an effective response during an actual emergency.
Officials said such exercises are essential for strengthening institutional preparedness and ensuring that personnel are familiar with emergency response procedures before a real incident occurs.
They emphasized that regular fire safety drills can improve coordination among response teams, facilitate timely evacuation and help minimize potential loss of life and property during emergencies.
The CDA said such preparedness exercises would continue as part of efforts to strengthen safety systems and enhance emergency response capabilities at important public institutions in Islamabad.
The exercise underscored the importance of proactive safety planning and coordinated emergency response in protecting human lives and reducing risks during unforeseen incidents.
