ISLAMABAD: While much of Islamabad remained asleep during overnight rainfall, sanitation teams of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) remained active in the field, clearing roads, cleaning drainage gratings and removing accumulated debris to keep the city’s drainage system functioning.
The overnight operation was aimed at preventing water accumulation on major roads and ensuring safer and smoother traffic movement during the morning commute.
The efforts of the sanitation teams reflect the importance of timely maintenance of roads and drainage infrastructure, particularly during the monsoon season when heavy rainfall can quickly block gratings and cause waterlogging.
By working through the night, CDA field teams helped prepare the city for the morning rush and minimise disruptions caused by rain.
