CHITRAL: A special plantation ceremony was organised at Jamia Islamia Rizvia High School, Kosht, Upper Chitral, as part of the Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ Special Monsoon Plantation Campaign during the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The event was organised by the Boni Forest Range of the Chitral Forest Division to promote tree plantation, environmental awareness and the conservation of natural resources among young people.
School Principal Amanuddin, the chief guest, formally inaugurated the plantation activity by planting a cedar sapling on the school premises.
Teachers, students, the Range Forest Officer Boni and field staff of the Forest Department actively participated in the ceremony.
During the event, the Range Forest Officer distributed saplings among students to encourage them to develop a strong connection with nature and understand their responsibility towards protecting the environment and natural resources.
Officials highlighted the importance of engaging young people in plantation and conservation activities, stressing that environmental stewardship is essential for creating a greener and safer future for coming generations.
The plantation drive also sought to convey the message that the teachings associated with the Seerat of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ encourage care for the earth, protection of natural blessings and actions that benefit future generations.
As part of the activity, three cedar saplings were planted, while 47 cedar and 30 oleander saplings were distributed among students.
The initiative reflects the Forest Department’s continued efforts to combine environmental awareness with community and educational activities and encourage the younger generation to play an active role in protecting Pakistan’s natural environment.
