BATTAGRAM: A tree plantation ceremony was held at the District Police Officer (DPO) Office Battagram as part of the ongoing Monsoon Plantation Campaign 2026, with senior police and forest officials participating in the activity.
DPO Battagram Qamar Hayat, SP Investigation Amjad and DFO Battagram Rafiq Ullah attended the ceremony and planted Deodar, Japanese Persimmon and lemon saplings on the premises of the DPO Office, formally marking the launch of the plantation activity.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Qamar Hayat (PSP) stressed the importance of tree plantation in addressing climate change and environmental pollution.
“Tree plantation is essential to combat climate change and environmental degradation. The Police Department will extend all possible cooperation to the Forest Department in making Battagram greener,” he said.
DFO Rafiq Ullah said the Hazara Tribal Forest Division Battagram, in collaboration with government departments, was conducting extensive plantation activities across the district during the monsoon season.
He said the campaign aimed to turn the vision of a “Green and Lush Battagram” into reality by encouraging government institutions and citizens to actively participate in tree plantation and protection.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment to promote plantation at the community level and encourage citizens to plant and protect trees for a greener, healthier and more climate-resilient Battagram.
