IRSA releases 261,400 cusecs of water as river inflows remain strong

ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Wednesday released 261,400 cusecs of water from various rim stations, while the total inflow into the river system stood at 315,100 cusecs.

According to IRSA data, the water level at Tarbela Dam on the River Indus was 1,503.19 feet, which is 101.19 feet above its dead level of 1,402 feet. Water inflow into the reservoir was recorded at 199,000 cusecs, while the outflow stood at 158,100 cusecs.

At Mangla Dam on the River Jhelum, the water level reached 1,172.90 feet, remaining 122.90 feet above the dead level of 1,050 feet. The dam received an inflow of 24,800 cusecs, while 12,000 cusecs of water was released.

IRSA reported that water releases at Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur were 213,000 cusecs, 179,800 cusecs, 136,400 cusecs and 69,600 cusecs, respectively.

Meanwhile, 37,800 cusecs of water flowed through the River Kabul at Nowshera, while 24,200 cusecs were released from the River Chenab at Marala.
