In Saudi Arabia, the streets are painted white during the Hajj to reduce the intensity of the heat by 20 degrees.
Like Asian countries, Arab countries are also experiencing severe heat and Saudi Arabia is facing extreme heat during Hajj season.
According to Al Arabiya Urdu, the General Assembly of Saudi Arabia has started painting the area around the Nimrah Mosque in Arafat to reduce the heat and make conditions more comfortable for pilgrims.
A spokeswoman for the Highway Agency said that applying a certain type of white paint to the road can reduce the intensity of heat up to 20 degrees. When this color is used on the road leading to Jamarat in Mina, the temperature drops by 12-15 degrees.
According to the spokesperson, the special paint used on the roads is produced locally and absorbs less sunlight. About 25,000 square meters around the Nimra Mosque have been painted. Last year, this experiment was carried out in a limited area and yielded positive results.
