The massive storm system is causing widespread chaos across various regions of the United States and has unleashed a flurry of extreme weather conditions from tornadoes in the south to blizzards in the north.
The forecast, issued by the National Weather Service, warned residents of potential flash flooding, strong winds gusting up to 50 miles per hour and thunderstorms stretching from the western Carolinas to the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
Governors and officials urge residents to prepare for impact, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy warns against underestimating the severity of the storm. In anticipation of a flurry of adverse weather conditions, he highlighted the atypical nature of this weather, expecting up to 10cm of rain and strong onshore winds.
Southern regions, especially the Southeast and Florida, have already experienced tornadoes, resulting in devastation with downed trees and damaged buildings. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency in 49 counties in preparation for continued stormy weather.

Poweroutage.us reports that more than 380,000 customers lost power, primarily in the Southeast, as the storm wreaked havoc on infrastructure. Flight traffic was also significantly disrupted, with FlightAware.com reporting more than 900 cancellations and 5,300 delays across the country.
The grounding of some Boeing 737 MAX aircraft for inspection after the incident on the Alaska Airlines flight contributed to the flight disruption.
