In Seoul, South Korea, 125 trains were delayed when a train operator took a 4-minute toilet break.
According to media reports, the “toilet break” taken by the train operator caused delays for hundreds of passengers trying to reach their destinations. The incident occurred around 8 AM local time on Seoul’s Line 2 when the train operator took a bathroom break at a station.
An engineer who was an eyewitness at the scene stated that the operator ran down to the platform to reach the toilet, which was on the second floor. It took the operator 4 minutes and 16 seconds to return to their cabin.
According to Seoul Metro, 125 trains following the delayed one had their schedules adjusted, with most facing delays of 20 minutes or more beyond their originally scheduled arrival times.
