Karachi: Today will be the longest night of this year i.e. 2023 while the day will be the shortest.
According to the Meteorological Department, the days become shorter and the nights become longer in the winter season, the night between 21st and 22nd December will be the longest night of the year, while after 21st December, the nights will start getting shorter and the days longer.
Today, the sunrise in Karachi was at 7:12 am, while the sunset will be at 5:48 pm, which means that the day will be more than 10 hours long, while the night will be 14 hours long.
This event falls in the month of December every year and its dates can be any day from 20th to 23rd December.

The Meteorological Department also said that June 21 was the longest day and shortest night this year.
It should be noted that the time when the northern half is the longest night of the year, it is also called “winter solstice” or “northern solstice” in the language of astronomy.
