ISLAMABAD – A seven-member delegation from Syria led by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Dr. Rami Waheed Al-Duli, visited the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). H.E. Syrian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Ramez Alraee was also present with the delegation. The visit laid the foundation for ushering in a new era of bilateral academic and research cooperation between the two countries.
The Syrian delegation invited NUST Chancellor Engr Jawed Mahmud Bukhari and Academician Chancellor Dr Osman Hasan and discussed the possibility of academic and research cooperation between NUST and higher education institutions in Syria. They were impressed by NUST’s achievements and comprehensive educational ecosystem that promotes innovation, empowers diverse perspectives and encourages community development. In his speech, the Rector of NUST expressed great hope that the visit can promote knowledge exchange and academic dialogue, as well as joint research activities that enrich global understanding.
The delegates then visited Pakistan’s first S&T Park – the National Science and Technology Park (NSTP) at NUST. They praised the spirit of collaboration between researchers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders, calling it an ideal ecosystem to catalyze innovation and ensure sustainable development.
