A new study warns that spending excessive time on devices like mobile phones, TVs, or computers during youth increases the risk of heart attacks.
Data from a study tracking the health of over 4,000 young adults for more than 30 years found that individuals who spent excessive time watching TV in their early 20s had a higher likelihood of experiencing heart attacks.
Dr. Jason Nagata, the lead author of the study, said that the findings indicate that the amount of time young adults spend on screens can significantly affect the risk of serious heart diseases later in life.
Additionally, excessive screen time can displace important activities such as sleep and physical exercise. The study highlights the importance of promoting screen time limitations in early life to prevent heart disease and stroke in the future, emphasizing overall health.
