Soan Garden Night Blackouts Trigger Criticism Over Management And Power Supply Arrangements

Islamabad: Residents of Soan Garden in Islamabad endured prolonged night-time power outages as scheduled load-shedding disrupted electricity supply from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, leaving households without power during peak night hours amid extreme heat conditions.

According to the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), the housing society is currently being fed electricity through a temporary arrangement via CBR Town and Pakistan Town feeders. Due to this limited and unstable setup, mandatory load-shedding has been imposed for the next two months or until supply conditions improve.

Residents have strongly criticised the situation, alleging mismanagement by the housing society’s administration, which they say has failed to secure a dedicated and reliable power supply despite repeated complaints.

The disruption has triggered widespread frustration, with residents questioning both the effectiveness of the society’s management and the coordination with the relevant power authorities.

Many residents are now calling for immediate intervention from IESCO, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and other concerned bodies to restore stable electricity and address what they describe as an avoidable and prolonged crisis.
