SKARDU: A meeting on wildlife conservation and park management was held in Skardu Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan, with a focus on protecting wildlife and improving management arrangements around the Amit Qarmar Lake area.
The meeting brought together senior officials to discuss important matters related to wildlife protection, conservation and park management in the region.
Commander FCNA Major General Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, Secretary Forests, Wildlife and Environment Gilgit-Baltistan Subtain Ahmed, Commander SCO Gilgit-Baltistan Colonel Muhammad Kashif Iqbal, and Chief Conservator Parks and Wildlife Dr. Zakir Hussain attended the meeting.
The participants discussed measures to strengthen wildlife conservation and improve management of protected natural areas, particularly around the Amit Qarmar Lake axis.
Gilgit-Baltistan is home to diverse mountain ecosystems and important wildlife habitats. Effective park management and protection of these areas are essential for conserving biodiversity and maintaining the region’s natural environment.
