Sukkur: Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) Government of Sindh is expanding Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Program (AALTP) by establishing 36 centers in Sukkur and Larkana. The contract signing ceremony was held at IBA Sukkur on Thursday.
In the opening ceremony of Sukkur District Chairman, Maqbool Ahmed Laghari said that the training and learning center will help school children to stay away, SEF hopes that our partners will create a respectful learning environment, create a learning space because they can love education, children. must enjoy.
AD AALTP Saima Siddiqui in his speech warned about setting up 200 centers that will provide more than 30,000 school children who miss out on education in formal schools. This will contribute to the opening of 20 centers in the Sukkur region and 16 in the Larkana region.
Amjad Hussain, Partner, Participating Organization (SPO), shared some examples of AALTP centers. He said SEF is the only organization in the country that is actively involved in non-formal education (NFE) and is making significant efforts to keep children out of school (OOSC).
Sukkur Commissioner Fayaz Hussain Abbasi attended the event as the chief guest. He commended SEF for its commendable efforts to empower individuals through formal and non-formal education. Prof. dr. Aneeta said Gulam’s legacy lives on in his visionary leadership.
He said SEF has been tasked with setting up new youth and adult education and training centers to help retain out-of-school children. This can be achieved through empathy and a sense of ownership which is necessary for success.
The Commissioner shared a personal story from his time as Deputy Commissioner in Matiari. On the way to the hospital, he met a girl who sold samosas. After research, he came to know that his parents were financially unstable and hence he worked. He decided to cover his tuition fees and has now completed his secondary education with flying colours. He said, this approach can be effectively used in our society to support education.
Maqbool Ahmed Laghari said in his closing speech that they have achieved the set goals within the set time. He hoped that the Sindh government’s commitment to NFE would yield positive results through a practical approach.
