Security forces kill eight militants in North Waziristan after border movement detected

RAWALPINDI, April 2: Pakistan’s military said security forces killed eight militants during an operation in North Waziristan after identifying their movement along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The engagement took place on April 1, when troops carried out a targeted action in the area. The ISPR said all eight militants were killed and weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site. The group was linked to “Fitna al Khwarij.”

The development highlights continued concerns over militant movement in border regions, where infiltration attempts remain a security challenge.

Pakistan raises border security concerns

The military reiterated that Afghan authorities must ensure effective control on their side of the border and prevent the use of their territory for militant activity against Pakistan.

Clearance operations continue

A sanitisation operation is underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area. The ISPR said operations under “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
