Saudi Arabia has banned working in direct sunlight during the summer months. Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced a ban on working in direct sunlight between 12:00 and 3:00. The measure aims to ensure the health of private sector workers.
According to the notification, the ban will be effective from June 15 to September 15. Violations will result in severe punishment. The ministry said non-compliance with the lunch ban can be reported through a mobile app.
The authority said the decision was taken to protect the health and safety of private sector workers and protect them from health risks. International standards of occupational health and safety are accepted.
The Ministry of Human Resources has asked the owners of companies and private institutions to adjust their working hours and submit new work schedules due to the ban.
