ISLAMABAD: Members of the Green Youth Movement (GYM) of Rawalpindi Women University (RWU), Amna Ejaz and Ammara Batool, participated in a three-day TAYAAR (Training Adolescents and Youth for Action & Resilience) training held from August 11 to 13, 2026, at the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in Islamabad.
The training was organized by the School of Leadership Foundation in collaboration with UNICEF and Youth Club, with the aim of equipping young people with practical skills to respond effectively to emergencies and disasters.
The three-day programme covered key areas including disaster preparedness, emergency response, CPR, first aid, fire and flood safety, teamwork and crisis management. Participants also took part in an informative visit to the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC), where they gained insights into national-level disaster monitoring, coordination and emergency response mechanisms.

The participation of RWU Green Youth Movement members reflects the growing role of young people in promoting disaster resilience, environmental awareness and community preparedness.
Such youth-focused initiatives provide participants with practical knowledge and skills that can help them respond responsibly during emergencies and contribute to safer and more resilient communities.
