BANNU: The Bannu Wildlife Division has intensified enforcement against illegal quail hunting and trapping, with the Ghazni Khel Raid Party conducting a field operation against individuals allegedly involved in wildlife offences.
The operation was carried out on the instructions of the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Bannu, as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal hunting and protect wildlife in the district.
Offenders Fined Under Wildlife Law
According to the Bannu Wildlife Division, the individuals involved in the violations were dealt with in accordance with the law and fined under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Act, 2015.
The division said continued enforcement and field patrols are important to deter illegal hunting and trapping and protect wildlife resources in the district.
Wildlife Protection Efforts Continue
Quail and other wild birds play a role in local ecosystems, while uncontrolled hunting and trapping can place additional pressure on wildlife populations.
The latest enforcement action highlights the importance of regular field patrols, timely intervention and implementation of wildlife protection laws to support biodiversity conservation and protect the province’s natural heritage.
