Riffat Mukhtar, a Grade (21) officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), has assumed charge as the new Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP). Riffat Mukhtar is the 23rd Inspector General of the NHMP. Previously, he served as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Interior. Throughout his career, he has held various significant positions, most notably as the Inspector General of Police, Sindh. He has also served as RPO Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and Bahawalpur. Upon his arrival at the NHMP Central Police Office in Islamabad, he was given a guard of honor, officers were introduced to him and details presentation was given. The new IG, NHMP expressed his commitment to further strengthening the institution and serving the public. Inspector General Riffat Mukhtar brings extensive experience from different fields of policing and is widely regarded as a highly professional and honest officer with an outstanding service record. In his initial address, Inspector General Riffat Mukhtar stated that it is a privilege to lead a department that is renowned for its integrity not only in Pakistan but worldwide. He reaffirmed his dedication to enhancing the department and serving the public, urging officers to always serve commuters promptly and courteously while ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property. He emphasized that the NHMP holds a prominent position among national institutions. He also paid tribute to the martyrs and laid wreaths in their memory.
