Mumbai: The release of Superstar Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s mega sci-fi film Kalki 2898 has hit a snag.
Indian media sources said the film’s distributor had ordered theater owners to stop pre-booking IMAX screens for the film. Following this order, the theater owner has stopped taking advance bookings for the IMAX screen and has now announced that the film will be released only on 2D and 3D screens.
Fans are eagerly waiting for this mega-budget and star-studded movie that will be released on June 27 worldwide. According to Indian media reports, the Hyderabad division of the Censor Board has given the film a UA certificate and the running time is 180 minutes and 56 seconds, making it the longest film in Prabhas’ career.
Indian media sources said that the film’s budget reached INR 600 million, setting a new record for any Indian film. Set a thousand years after the end of the world, the film premiered at Comic-Con in the US.
