A massive snowstorm has caused widespread destruction across 30 states in the United States, including Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. According to global news agencies, an emergency has been declared in six states during the snowfall. The heaviest snowfall occurred in Alabama, where a 143-year-old record was broken.
Due to the snowstorm and strong winds, over 3,200 flights were canceled, schools were closed, and business activities were halted. In various incidents, four people lost their lives, while several others were hospitalized due to flu, cold, and fever. Thousands of people were left without electricity.
The weather department has stated that the snowfall will continue for another three days, and citizens have been advised not to leave their homes unless necessary. Besides the US, the snowstorm has also affected the UK and Canada, with more than 50 deaths across these three countries over the past month.
