RAJANPUR: A district-level Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Forum meeting was held in Rajanpur to strengthen disaster preparedness, improve coordination and build resilience among flood-affected communities.
Organised by the Rajanpur team of PMS under the project “Strengthening and Rebuilding Resilience of Flood-Affected Communities,” the meeting was chaired by Deputy Director Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Tahmina Dilshad.
Representatives from government departments, Rescue 1122, international and local non-governmental organisations, and other stakeholders attended the forum. Participants discussed coordination, information sharing and ways to improve emergency response during disasters.
The meeting highlighted the importance of cooperation among local institutions and humanitarian partners to ensure timely and effective responses to emergencies, particularly in communities vulnerable to floods and other disasters.
As part of the initiative, IT equipment was handed over to the Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Department to strengthen information management and support timely decision-making during emergencies.
The forum reflects ongoing efforts by PMS and its partners to support local institutions, improve disaster response capacity and strengthen resilience in flood-affected communities across Rajanpur.
