Punjab Intensifies Industrial Inspections in Gujranwala to Curb Air Pollution

GUJRANWALA: The Environment Protection Force has intensified inspections of industrial units across Gujranwala and Hafizabad to ensure compliance with environmental laws and strengthen measures to control air pollution.

The inspections were conducted on the directions of Gujranwala Commissioner Muhammad Ali and Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed, with Deputy Director Environment Gujranwala Engineer Muhammad Imran Mayo directing Environment Protection Force inspectors to examine boilers at industrial units in different tehsils.

During the enforcement drive, officials inspected the boilers and environmental practices of several rice mills, paper mills, textile units and other industrial facilities.

The inspected units included:

  1. NY Rice Mills, Hafizabad Road, Gujranwala
  2. Qurban Paper Mills, Qila Didar Singh
  3. Al-Hamd Paper Mills, Chehal Kalan
  4. Elahi Rice Mills, Naukhar
  5. Haroon Textile Mills, GT Road, Gujranwala
  6. Zeenat Textile Mills, Galla Kausar, Fain Wala, Gujranwala
  7. Aamir Dyeing Mills, Galla Kausar, Fain Wala, Gujranwala
  8. Nobel Rice Mills, Tatlay Aali Road, Nowshera Virkan
  9. Randha Rice Mills, Babbar Road, Nowshera Virkan
  10. National Rice Mills, Tatlay Aali Road, Nowshera Virkan

Following the inspections, notices were issued to the industrial units, directing them to further improve their pollution-control measures and ensure compliance with applicable environmental requirements.

Environment officials stressed that industrial operators must take effective measures to control emissions and prevent activities that contribute to air pollution and environmental degradation.

Engineer Muhammad Imran Mayo said that those responsible for polluting the environment would not be given any concession and that enforcement action would continue without discrimination against violators.

The inspections are part of ongoing efforts to improve air quality, strengthen implementation of environmental laws and protect public health in Gujranwala and surrounding areas.

Officials reiterated the message that clean air, a healthy life and a clean environment are a shared responsibility, calling on industrial operators and citizens to play their role in protecting the environment.
